This a melancholic and tragic story of migration, racism, integration and failure. An Afghan familiy (one pregant woman Leyla, her husband Jamal, and their 2 yr old daughter Palo) arrives in the early 80s in at the main station in Munich. They try to start a life which ist almost prevented by problems that they have due to their religion (Islam), their looks (dark skin, black hair) and the differences in behaviour and culture. Their Integration in this new society is accompanied by their memories of their lost home, the Hindukush, the statues of Bamyan, the Afghan sun. Leyla -from whose point of view the story is told- has a baby boy in the first night of november when they arrive in Germany. The boy has blue eyes and grows up to become a handsome young man. He falls in love with a blonde German girl and finally gets torn in between those two worlds of which he cannot be a part of. He kills himself and the girl in a november night with an explosion. While the statues of Bamyan are being blown up, at the same time next to Munichs Frauenkirche a apartment ist blown up.
