What's your vision?

Please do not focus on the surfer for the cover. The point of the story is the path/initiation. Please do come up with some original ways to convey this idea. We are NOT aiming at attract surfers.Cover for a new initiatory novel « Réunion de talents » (combination of talents) The story : A young talented surfer is trained by an atypical coach. To become a world champion he will become a complete man on all the plans. Physical, mental, spiritual, emotional. He will practice several sports disciplines and will discover a new vision of the life. It will surf big waves and will become one of the biggest surfers. The history takes place mainly on the island La Reunion, then to Hawaï and on the Basque coast in France. Keywords : Surf, Initiatory, complete man, La Réunion Island Format : 15 x 22 cm Couverture pour un nouveau roman initiatique : Réunion de talents L’histoire : Un jeune surfeur talentueux va être entrainé par un coach atypique. Pour devenir un champion de l'élite mondial il va devenir un homme complet sur tous les plans. Physique, mental, spirituel, émotionnel. Il appréhendera plusieurs disciplines sportives et découvrira une nouvelle vision de la vie. Il surfera des vagues immenses et deviendra l'un des plus grands surfeurs. The coach is black and has blue eyes. (One side can be on front cover, the other on back cover.) Other ideas are welcome...

This book is an extended version of "The 10 Commandments of the Modern Caveman" ebook, which cover I had created previously. However, this publication comes with a bonus mini-book called “Tuky: Návod na použitie” (The User's Guide to Fats). They are two separate ebooks, but the printed version is basically a 2-in-1, where we can find each subject when we turn the book around. In terms of design, the author wanted to follow the same approach of the other books in the series, representing caveman drawings in a very simple way and products that are used in the Paleo diet. The challenge for this project was to make the design different enough that could be easily identified as “two books”, but also with some similarities, in order to keep the balance of the entire book cover (front and back) and also to make the connection with the previous publications.

These are the first two publications for the "Moderný Pračlovek" series (Modern Caveman). The main idea was to represent caveman drawings in a very simple way and products that were used at that time... but also in our days. The first one — “Kuchyňa Pračloveka” (Caveman's Kitchen) — is an untraditional cookbook focused on the choice of ingredients and kitchen skills/practices rather than just recipes. The second publication is an ebook — "Desatoro Prikázaní Moderného Pračloveka" — that basically means "The 10 Commandments of the Modern Caveman". Following this line of thought, the author requested something related with the religious meaning of the title. Therefore, I used the idea of the stones of the 10 Commandments described in the Bible. It was also important for the author to keep the “caveman illustrations” separated in two zones — the day and the night. At the center, the squatting silhouette represents the meditation and balance.
