Once you’ve connected with a professional, a project space is created where you can both easily communicate, share files, and view invoices, and where you’ll be able to secure and release payment.

All work on a Wix website, however, is done directly within Wix’s design platform. This means a key part of the process will be for you to grant permissions for your website to your professional. The type of permissions required will vary depending on what you’ll need help with. Learn more about the different roles and permissions on Wix, or feel free to ask your professional for guidance on the access they’ll need once you’ve kicked off a project.

Your professional is an expert at what they do but they won’t know what you need on your site unless you share it with them. Take a moment to pull together a list of any items or requirements you have for your online store. For example: 

- Logo files
- Brand guidelines
- High-resolution imagery
- Outline of pages or sections for your site (Home, About, Shop, etc.)
- Text for each section or page ("About us")
- Sample sites you like & why

Your job will be shared with verified professionals in a space where they'll be able to review and express interest. You'll then choose from experts who have opted in to work with you.

This will depend on the scope and complexity of your design needs. When creating a custom project, you can set your ideal timeline, and your Wix professional will factor this into their quote. If you choose a website package, the build time is about 21 days once you've provided all the initial assets, text, and feedback.

As the site owner, you will always retain edit access to your site. However, we suggest that you wait until the Wix professional has completed their work on your site before you make any changes, as this could disrupt their progress.

Once you’ve started, you’ll get email notifications at key stages during your project – including when your Wix professional has marked your project as “complete”. When logged into 99designs, refer to your project's “activity” section to communicate with your Wix professional. If you need more assistance, you can also reach out to our support team.

Once the project is marked as “complete” and payment has been released, any further revisions may come at an additional cost. You can discuss this possibility with your Wix professional when you start your project.
