We want to completely overhaul the look of our site, including a new logo and new shade of green as our main color. (Here's a suggestion for a color palatte: https://www.materialpalette.com/gre…p-orange.)
We'd like the rebrand to feel professional, fun and cultivate a sense of community.
We'd like the site to look modern and uncluttered, with a slim category bar at the top. Categories = freelancing, marketing, fiction, publishing (should have two sub-categories: self-publishing and traditional publishing) marketing, blogging.
Other elements we'd like to see:
+ More than one main column, like we have now -- perhaps a masonry style? We do want to keep the sidebar, but it can be slimmer than it is now.
+ A place to promote our shop, where we'll feature our ebooks and courses. This could be a category on the category bar, or a spot on the right sidebar, or some other persistent feature, so it's always there for people to see.
+ Featured social icons: Facebook, Facebook group, Pinterest, Twitter, RSS
+ Search bar
+ Prominent box in the right rail for signing up for our email list that features how many subscribers we already have: 33,000
+ Rectangular featured photos for each blog post rather than square ones like we have now
Please use a WordPress template as a starting point. We use the Genesis theme on WordPress now (http://my.studiopress.com/themes/genesis/) and are happy to stick with that or use a different theme. Either way, we'd like the site to look customized. The site should be fully responsive for mobile.
Please use Google Fonts: https://fonts.google.com/
