Great designer and great experience! I loved working with parapluie. She designed a logo that fit my company and me perfectly. I can finally say I have a logo that I love, and a logo that looks professional. I am so glad she took the time to work with me. Thank you!
How Kvoskowsky started their web page design journey
Who are you known as?
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
I am an independent writer currently trying to establish my platform. I write creative nonfiction. I am currently writing a memoir, but I also do travel writing, food writing, and I write various article on health and lifestyle topics.
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
I like this author's website because her content is not just limited to the two books she's published - she has a little bit of everything for her readers to explore, and the homepage is bright, colorful, and feminine. http://www.elizabethgilbert.com/
I love this author, and I like this website because it has her face on the front page with links to explore her published writing, but otherwise, I'm not a huge fan of the disorganized setup. http://jwoww.com/
Ok, I know this is silly to reference the Jersey Shore bronzed cast member, but I will say that her website is organized really well. It has all the different separated sections for the various topics she posts on and she has clearly posted links to her Facebook and Twitter accounts. I would also like mine to link to LinkedIn.
The homepage should introduce me as a professional writer, avid traveler, and foodie. I would like it to include tabs that lead to a bio, contact info, books, etc. along with the different blogs I will be writing (organized by topic headlines of food, health, travel, memoir). I would like this website to be a place that functions as a portfolio, a blog, and eventually a place where publishers can sell my book.
Although I don't have any current images I'd like to use for my logo, I am very fond of nature and the color purple. I'd like the design to reflect the mystery of the forest (maybe green leaves or vines or tree silhouettes, whatever you can come up with) while still remaining light and feminine. As a secondary idea, I am also really fond of Indian culture and the design patterns found within that culture, and I LOVE elephants. So If you could incorporate an elephant somewhere, that would be wonderful.
This website will be a direct reflection of me as an individual and as a writer, and i think the organization and appealing color schemes are the two most important things. So have fun with it! If I knew how to do this web design stuff I would too!
