How Jon Evans started their web page design journey
We are a small software consultancy business called Springy Web. Our customers range from medium-size businesses to large corporations. We are passionate about what we do and are keen to expand our business by adding a Springy Web touch to every project we undertake. We are a software company that wants to solve problems and to this end are willing to use the best tools for every job, with an emphasis on flexible solutions that can deliver measurable business benefit. We firmly believe that our strength as a company is based in our intelligence and experience; our solutions are well thought out and considered - we want to find the angles that not every company considers - we can take an idea and "bounce" it into something grander.
Our domain name is springyweb.com.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Our site will target IT heads in medium sized companies who are looking to save money from their IT budgets by increasing efficiency, but we don't want to brand ourselves as too dry or cold to exclude companies looking for a non-corporate approach to their IT problems.
We want to appeal to a hip media company looking to manage its online content without excluding local government departments trying to meet the latest legislation.
We are looking for a design for a simple two page website, to be delivered as Illustrator file(s).
We are looking for a fresh looking site that represents a youthful energy without sacrificing professionalism.
* Intelligent, eye-catching and innovative design
* Colour scheme to match the Springy Web logo
* Think Da Vinci - Art as Science and Science as Art - this is perhaps best expressed in the discipline of software development.
The home page should have space for a brief "soundbite" of what Springy Web is all about
Maybe an inspiring image at the top of the page. Something abstract perhaps?
Space for a few quotes from our customers about how awesome we are
An area of the page where we pick a couple of recent projects and put an image, short description, and a link to a page about it (these pages are not part of the contest).
A "Customer login" button / link
Should have the contact details for our company, a google map and directions.
