Andrewmessina got their new web page design by running a design contest:
Tech Experts Needs New Homepage Design
Check out Andrewmessina's Web page design contest…
Our website should promote the fact that we are technical experts for small businesses, only in the NYC, NJ and CT area (better known as the NY Metro area) My target audience (visitors) that I am anticipating or targeting should be: 1. a small business owner who lack technology knowledge and would like someone to take over all of their technology needs. 2. An existing 'techie' within the business who needs some help implementing some technologies, or a certain expertise is required that they do not have. They feel we can supplement their knowledge. 3. A non-technical business owner who knows "some" stuff about technology but needs our experience and expertise in some areas. 4. Another type of visitor will be my existing users who need us to connect to their computer for remote support. These users know us already, but the website should stimulate a conversation with us about the services we provide. We only focus in the NY Metro area, and really only market ourselves to small business clientele.
I like background photo/graphics but they should NOT take up the entire page, but so long as it makes sense. See some of the website examples. I also really like the red, black and white theme Please use my logos that I've attached on the design brief. They are in eps format. I've attached the fonts, if you need them, but use what you think looks best.
I really need a great homepage, and the other pages can follow the same format. We focus on small/medium sized business, and I don't want to over complicate things. I've seen dozens of websites with menus, sub-menus, and additional sub-links. I want to keep this simple so that I can build upon it if necessary. I would also like you to include an empty template for all inner content pages, following theme from homepage. Links in nav bar... Home, Services, blog, about us, Contact "The small business technology experts Let us worry about the technology, so you can focus on your business" The homepage must have the following links: - “a Remote support section – 2 links, one for Windows and one for Apple” Should easy to navigate as existing customers go to my site for this link. It should not be the focus of the website, but should be easily viewable. - Who We Are link .. (with description) Our staff of experts has experience providing information technology services to small businesses in the NY Metro area increasing productivity and profitability. - Small Business Experts link (With Description) Small business owners are unique in the sense that they typically operate with a fixed budget, fixed number of resources and simply want their business model to just “work” - Why Choose Us link (with description) Small business owners are unique in the sense that they typically operate with a fixed budget, fixed number of resources and simply want their business model to just “work” - A Free Network Assessment - Twitter icon - Linked In icon with link - Also use the attached PDF file on this design brief for content, if necessary
What to avoid
- Worldwide tech support services. We're not trying to solve problems worldwide, just locally. - I do NOT like those stock photography photos that LOOK like stock photos. As an example, look at my CURRENT website. I don't like any of those photos.
This is my second contest with 99 designs and I really believe in the process. My concept is that if I help you I will end up with a kick ass website design. I'm hear to answer any questions you might have and try to give you immediate feedback.
