ingamepredictions.com
I'm a developer. I have a decent eye for UI/UX but am not good at making things look good and clean.
Folks who watch ESPN and/or male teens
This game is for sports fans who yell at the TV to tell the coach what to do. For folks who scream from the stands. For people who brag at work that they knew what the outcome of the game will be - they are a better sports fan.
The game is essentially a one page website, where the user can
- make daily predictions
- challenge friends for those daily predictions
- see a leaderboard
Users will get an email at the end of the day telling them how they did, the challenges they won and lost, and a link to the next day's predictions.
I've attached a wireframe
- The left hand side is the where the user is presented with 10-20 predictions for the day.
- The right hand side (top part) is where the user can set who they want to challenge for that day.
- The right hand side (bottom part) is a leaderboard. It will show a site wide leaderboard for not logged in users. For logged in users (Facebook connect), it will show leaderboard amongst friends.
- Facebook connect will be the only way to signup.
I've also attached two assets I like
- a logo
- yes/no buttons
-> Feel free to tweak them if you need to, but I think they are okay.
Background
- I like the idea of a stadium background, like http://www.roulettecricket.com/
- I don't like having a lot of the field. I'd like the focus to be on the stands because it's all about users making predictions.
- The background should be subtle and not take away from the game actions.
Things I like
- clean
- attention to details (no detail is small enough)
- fun
1
The main page of the website, which will also be the home page (where users land). I want to do it this way because I want it to remain very simple.
This page gets right to the point
- it lets users make predictions right away
- a one liner on the top bar (in between logo and facebook connect) should explain the game
The ideal thing I want to see from users
- make predictions
- challenge 3-5 friends
- that's it! (all friend will get an email at the end of the day giving results and asking for next day's predictions)

This site launched 3 weeks ago but didn't really do well. It was 'too much' for users. They had to select a game, and make predictions within a game. The new version simplifies the game mechanics by asking users to make a set of daily predictions, across all sports.
