What inspires you and how do you envision the design for your business?

Voip Technology Training dealing with SIP and many other aspects of Voice over IP Provided by Engineers Consulting Group We need a Template that looks and feels fresh and fun but at the same time convey knowledge and a business like atmosphere. This is a training course meant for people in the telecom field. Very Technical based going very deep into the Sip Protocol, routing, subnets and networking in dealing with VoIP. We want the site to play off the name so maybe a feel like a university or college with a bit more of a business feel.
I have no Color scheme. I'm very open to anything at this point.
Layout:
For this design i think i want a 3 column. I like a header nav section for major links and side nav for sub-links under the major links. The Right column is going to be a place for customer reviews and feedback. Although don't feel constrained to just this design. This is what i picture in my head right now but if i see something better I will always choice that.
