jorgenc got their new web page design by running a design contest:
Redesign our website for business simulation games
Check out jorgenc's Web page design contest…
We deliver easy to use simulation games to high schools and colleges in business education, letting students run a virtual company in groups, competing against other students in their class.
First and foremost we are looking for a design which appeals to professionals in the field of business and education. No overly abstract illustrations, animations and quotes, our customers will see right through it. Yet, the coloring and illustrations should not be corporate and boring, we are making a game which appeals to students, who have fun using our products. Our competitors all look like they are from the '00s, and we want to stand out. We like our existing color palette, but we are looking to make our site more inviting, professional and credible. It looks a bit "home made" right now, inconsistent and lacking any artistic details. *The students and their learning should be the focus*, and how we help them succeed in their business education. We want real-life use-case images to show how our product is used in practice, as this can be hard to grasp for a new visitor. Some screenshots can be used as well. As a company, we are competent, with a touch of playfulness in expression. Our audience is mostly teachers and professors with low technical ability, so buttons and interactions MUST be obvious, with clear separation of sections of content and have legible contrasts. Custom artwork is of course also very welcome and appreciated where it makes sense, if it fits with our general style
It needs to be clear that we have 3 very distinct products to choose from!! They should stand out TOP MENU Logo - Simulations - Testimonials - Contact - Try now - Log in FRONT PAGE In the header there will be an image that showcases the situation in the classroom when the simulations are in use. Can either be one of our images, or an illustration. The students sit in groups around a laptop each, discussing energetically while the teacher runs the simulation on a projector, and walks around to help the student groups. [Headline text] "Bring your course to life with business simulations" "Give your students a deeper understanding of your business or marketing course with Hubro’s simulation games. " [Explainer video and Why choose our simulations] A section explaining why our simulations are the best on the market, not too long section but with some interesting imagery and powerful selling points. [Our products] We offer 3 products at the moment, Hubro Business Simulation, Marketing Simulation and Finance Simulation. Each has an illustration, explanation and a link to read more about it. They should be together horizontally. [Testimonials] We have testimonials from high schools and universities with their own unique use case stories, quotes and images. We should highlight ONE with a big image to show. [Call to action] Let the users know they can try out the product for free in a way they can't miss it [Blog] Some of the recent blog posts should be highlighted to show that we are active [Footer] -Links to other places on the site: -About us -We are hiring/join our team - Contact -change Language - Events -Blog -Newsletter sign-up - Terms -Privacy -Technical requirements - Pricing -Social media - Facebook, youtube HUBRO IN PRACTICE PAGE This is the second page we want to see, which explains how our simulations are used in practice. [Picture of teams of students working together] [Header] [A timeline of what you do when you run a simulation, like in https://www.grin.co/] 1. Create your simulation and set your parameters 2. Invite students to join with a link 3. Students register and form their own groups on their own 4. You start the game and they start playing 5. You control the progress of the simulation, watch in real time how the companies preform, and interact with the students 6. Finish the simulation and get reports of the results [Description together with pictures from the classroom ] [CTA: Link to our simulations] [Description of what is common for all Hubro simulation] Each point will also have a longer description. Have placeholders for now for the longer text. These points can also use some screenshots to illustrate the points - Facilitated by the instructor - Students work in teams - Run the company. - Compete directly with each other - One day or several weeks - Extra content - Configurable to your needs - Extensive reporting
What to avoid
Avoid buttons and links that don't look clickable, everything must be obviously interactive. White text that is hard to read on images List of features with icons over them Fake smile stock photos
