Traitwise is a game-changing health service that asks users health-related questions and lets them suggest questions of their own to ask the community. By participating, users learn how aspects of their health compare to other people similar to themselves while also helping to improve medical knowledge in general.
The winner of this design contest will be contracted at $80/hour for future improvements.
Two target audiences:
- clinicians, researchers, investors
- patients & caregivers
We need one design for front and secondary page for a corporate site (http://www.traitwise.com) and a somewhat simpler sister design for our product sites (for example, http://www.marfan-survey.org). The two designs should share enough in terms of layout, palette, and graphic design that they're obviously connected to the same company.
Traitwise creates surveys for patients of various disease communities like the one at http://www.marfan-survey.org. The design there can be simple and bold (without being cartoony). It's for non-technical end users.
The http://www.traitwise.com site is where customers and investors come to see what we do. The design can be more sophisticated and dense.
The ideal designer has web skills, but we've got enough technical expertise to implement whatever chosen design as long as assets are available.
All content on current pages has to have a home. You'll notice that both example sites embed a Flash file with a scrolling survey mechanism. The size of that swf file is fixed so any designs must incorporate it at the correct size. However, the design for the web pages can and should include ideas for changing the shading, palette, framing, etc. of the survey panels.
The current palette is flexible except for the orange that's in use for the logo and "trait" part of the name.
