Who are you known as?
Get Nitrogen Institute
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
The Get Nitrogen Institute (GNI) was founded in 2005 to provide information to consumers, over-the-road entities, fleet companies, and others regarding the benefits of using nitrogen tire inflation. Nitrogen is a non-flammable, dry gas that keeps tires properly inflated longer than air. This is due to the fact that nitrogen has larger molecules that migrate through a tire three to four times slower than oxygen. A tire filled with air will lose 1.5 lbs. per square inch (psi) in less than a month; with nitrogen, this could take three months or longer. Nitrogen provides better maintenance of tire pressure, which maximizes fuel economy (up to $300/year!), tire life, safety, and reliability, and vehicle handling. Also, anything that improves fuel efficiency and reduces toxic emissions is good for the environment. We provide access to research studies regarding nitrogen, statistical papers and general information for everyone from consumer to international trucking and fleet operators. We also offer ROI calculators and resources to help visitors determine if nitrogen tire inflation is a good fiscal decision for them. Along with information, the Get Nitrogen Institute also offers a program that provides consumers with travel, nitrogen location and safety resources, while also providing service entities customer retention tools to drive customers back to their location for top-offs and other services.
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
Our homepage should provide the overall look for the entire site. It should be clean, easy to use and graphically reflect the environmental (“green”) benefits of nitrogen inflation. A focus for the Get Nitrogen Institute in the coming months will be fleet operations. Everything from over-the-road (18-wheeler) fleets to rental, taxi, government, and law enforcement fleets will also be a focus. The homepage must continue to show our Dealer Locator, Jay Leno video, Green Impact counters and Savings Calculator. We would also like to add a “teaser” to a FAQ section on the homepage that includes just two questions: 1) Can I top off with regular air? 2) Air is already 78% nitrogen, what’s the big deal?. It must also provide navigation to the other sections of the site and should prominently display a means to access our roadside assistance registration.
We’re looking for a clean, easy to use site that showcases our environmental focus. While we are initially looking at the home page we would like to maintain the same look throughout the site. Since our main services are both educational and product sales it would be great to be have a professional look without seeming corporate.
