This site is needed to help keep the community informed about changes occurring during some major reconstruction to the area - we need a design that is very clean, simple, web 2.0 style, but still trustworthy and authoritative. Layered PSDs only. No code.
1/ A logo and some published material already exists for the project but we need a website.
2/ The website will be using our content management system as the backend which requires some design considerations.
3/ Some samples of EXISTING sites based on our content management system are as follows:
4/ A sample of the logo & printed styles can be downloaded from:
B:: STRUCTURE/STYLE FOR NEW SITE
1/ The website should be pretty easy to follow and we imagine it will have 2 main menu systems - across top + left hand side.
2/ Each of the menu systems will have the option of submenus (ie, drop down, popout, etc)
3/ The top level items for the horizontal (top) menu are as follows:
Precinct Plans | Documents Online | Ringwood History
4/ The top level items for the vertical (left) menu are as follows
How do I get involved
5/ The main entry page of the site (what we call the "splash" page) needs to display the following items:
- Photo of the Week (+ link to photo competition page)
- Scrolling news items
- A featured content item
- A simple poll
6/ We are looking for a clean, simple web 2.0 look and feel for community site.
- White Space - Colours to complement the logos/branding as attached. - Image in the banner - Clean navigation / easy to find info - Web 2.0 - but not a design that looks like lots of other websites!
- Busy design - Too many colors, cluttered or messy - Disorganized - Not too many fonts, color
