HostExchange needed a new coded website design and created a contest on 99designs.
A winner was selected from 20 designs submitted by 9 freelance designers.
UPDATE - Jun 27... We now have a few more contenders and this contest is wide open. Recent entries from mrpsycho98 and bearbrick are excellent, but the door's still wide open for anyone else to take it out!
Rotary District 9810

Desired Style:
Modern and stylish but with respect to the demographic. Most visitors are 45-70yo, not especially tech literate.

HTML, JPG/GIF
BRIEF UPDATED - see below.
XHTML compliant template for Rotary District 9810, based on the 2007-8 Rotary International theme.
This is a new theme for an existing site BUT I'm looking for a BIG improvement in the quality of design (I'm offering more than double what I paid last year) and a bit of a rejig to the layout.
Current site is http://9810.rotary.org.au/
The style should be consistent with the 2007-8 theme, which can be seen at:
http://www.rotary.org/newsroom/down…index.html
http://www.rotary.org/newsroom/down…00en06.pdf
The layout should include:
- Left-hand-side cascading (drop-down) menus
- Top shortcut menu with:
-> Home
-> Download News
-> Blog
-> Contact Us
Side features:
- Calendar
- Club Search
Places should be allowed for sponsor banner/logo placement.
Please don't hesitate to PM me if you have further questions.
All welcome!
UPDATE:
Thought I should also include links to the designs we had for the previous 2 years, which were much better than last year's...
http://tmp.9810.rotary.org.au/20040…s/main.asp
http://tmp.9810.rotary.org.au/20050…s/main.asp
The new design should be of comparable style and quality to these. HOWEVER, whilst very good, these designs are fairly traditional website styles. With the new style we'll be including some Web 2.0-type features, so I'm looking for the new design to be more modern and Web2.0-like than previous years.
Thanks!
