Description of the product
We are Hungry Bark - a company that sells healthy dog food meal plans and treats. Our products excel because of our ingredients. Our ingredients are made primarily of superfoods. We are looking for a design for our dry kibble dog food packaging.
Description of the product target audience
Dog owners of all ages who: 1) care deeply about their dogs health and are willing to pay a little extra for better quality dog food with superfood ingredients instead of getting the dry kibble normally sold in retail stores. 2) value convenience, which we provide to them by monthly automatic delivery + ease of serving.
We are looking for a very *clean and modern* design for our dry kibble dog food packaging. Our #1 selling point is our ingredients, which are made primarily of superfoods. Our tagline is “Superfoods for Super Dogs”. We are looking to emphasize the ingredients on our packaging. Every dog owner thinks that THEIR dog is the best dog in the world and that THEIR dog deservers to have the best life possible, and therefore deserves food that is very healthy and natural. We are a company that will not hide our ingredients in the food - instead, we will use tell the world about our ingredients. We don't want to be in a situation where our brand is blending in with the masses - we are here to disrupt the dog food industry. Because the customers we will serve will actively be trying to remove themselves from the masses by paying a premium for their dog’s food instead of getting the traditional petco brand dry kibble. Example Ingredients List: Turmeric, Pumpkin, Gogi Berries, Ginger, Kelp, Coconut, Spinach, Fava Beans, Green Tea, Chicory Please use the flavor name "Turkey & Duck" on the packaging. Tonality we are trying to achieve with the brand: Conversational — We are approachable, not formal or academic. Plainspoken — We are transparent and truthful, avoiding hype, over promising, and excessive superlatives. Warm — We are kind and friendly. We love our pets, and we love their owners. Playful — We're lighthearted and use gentle humor now and then, but we’re never ridiculous. Winks not guffaws. Other Comments: The logo file attached - the logo has not been assigned a color palette yet. The light blue you see used was picked at random and likely will be changed later. The brand does employ colors. We want to use bright colors to differentiate the flavors. Each flavor will have a different bag color We need to make sure we are effectively targeting millennials, yet not completely excluding the older than millennial demographic We will be extremely responsive on all designs submitted with feedback using screencast videos. We have built hundreds of sites through the years and will work with you closely to hone down any designs that are submitted. This is a very important project to us and we will ensure that we help support your efforts anyway we can.
What to avoid
Avoid looking at our website to base your designs off of. We will be completely redesigning the site before we go to market with the product. We don’t want our packing to look like it came out of a comic book. That goes against our brand guidelines stated above. Please keep the logo away from the very top of the packaging - we want to avoid it getting ripped off when a customer opens the bag. No pictures of dogs or food images on packaging please.
