beaumturner1996 got their new product packaging by running a design contest:
Designed for smiles, a box for BoobyBags
Check out beaumturner1996's Product packaging contest…
Description of the product
We are BoobyBags, high end breastmilk storage bags for mothers needing to store breastmilk in the freezer. Our product plays on the blue footed booby (penguin looking bird) as well as the female breasts.
Description of the product target audience
mothers with children still using breastmilk that are too busy to be there to feed their child exactly when they need, and as such require ways to store their precious breastmilk for use at a later time. They are health conscious and want a harmful chemical free bag that they can trust and makes them smile.
We want a product box with a simple and fun front and space on the back and sides for information about the product, we would like the blue footed booby to be featured (in an illustrated but recognizable style). We are also looking for designs to place on the bags themselves, and will work with the designer of our favorite package to create the look of the actual product, which will be similar in theme to the box. The box should be playful but not too busy. We want the text style to be easy to read and "soft", i.e. not abrasive. design humor is appreciated, but no need to force it. We have included a picture of the bag we are using which has a different company's design on it, We are looking to replace the giraffe theme along the measurements to a blue footed booby. This is outside the scope of the packaging design, but the bags inform the box and vice versa.
What to avoid
avoid stock imagery, if the design can be fully illustrated and still attractive to mothers, that is preferred. We're walking an interesting line with our product being called "BoobyBags" so avoid unnecessary vulgarity if you feel the design you are submitting is questionable.
box is ~8.5 inches tall, ~8 inches wide, and between 2-3 inches in depth, we are clearing up exact dimensions with the supplier.
It all began with a design brief.
