Seed Starter Kit: HERBS
Description of the product
Our product is grow-at-home, indoor, herb starter kit. Seeds, Pots, Soil-Everything Non-GMO, Organic, & Biodegradable Herbs included: chives, basil, mint, cilantro, parsley. The ethos of our company/non-profit is radically reclaiming our ability to bring good things into our lives and our communities--beginning with our kitchens. For each kit purchased, we donate one to community programs and initiatives that educate and promote access to nutritious food. If this could be highlighted in some simple way on the packaging that would be a bonus. Radical Releaf. Growing Together.
Description of the product target audience
Target Audience: 20-45y.o. Product is going to sell for 20-30$
We have been tossing around the idea of having a closed fist holding a bunch of leaves as the focal point of our packaging. Think rebellion. Protest. Maybe even old school propaganda inspired? Our competitors packaging is BORING AS HELL. These are both great examples of what we DON'T WANT: https://www.amazon.com/Planters-Choice-Organic-Growing-Grinder/dp/B071JKSJJV/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1517883281&sr=8-4&keywords=herb+starter+kit https://www.amazon.com/Organic-Natures-Blossoms-Garden-Starter/dp/B01EFX6VPA/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1517883281&sr=8-3&keywords=herb+starter+kit We we will be expanding the line with time, but want the packaging to remain consistent. So we want something adaptable to those changes. So for example right now we are doing herbs, but we will likely branch out to peppers, microgreens, florals, etc. We want a fixed place on the package that we can change out the product name without redoing the entire package design. On the back of the package we need to include our bar code, etc. We would also like to leave space for instructions. Included a loose mock-up of the instructions in the attachments. We're definitely more interested in you transmitting our ethos than our suggested ideas, you after all are the creatives. We're just some do-gooders who want poor kids to be able to eat some green leaves now and again.
What to avoid
I'd prefer no photographs. Illustrated renderings are preferable for the aesthetic we're hoping for.

Loved the design. It was exactly what I wanted, and she was exceptionally easy to work with. I'll absolutely go back to her if I have more similar work in the future!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
