Brandon Monahan needed a new print or packaging design and created a contest on 99designs.
A winner was selected from 82 designs submitted by 20 freelance designers.
We are a pro-life company offering checks to the pro-life community. We are looking for designs that best express pro-life views and look good on checks.
The target audience tends to be older conservative women actively involved in church and pro-life activities.
All our checks come in a series of 4 designs per check book so we will need 4 related designs to be approved (it is possible that there is just color variations between the designs but it would have to be a really good design for us to feel it would sell well alone). We are not looking so much for photographs (we have those) but for vector art designs. Something cute - not in your face or anything. A good design will include drawings of unborn babies, mothers, and so on. Again, looking for cute.
Checks are VERY limited in their layout but you can search online and get examples of other checks. I have uploaded a template (it is a PSD) at http://www.hh76.com/C001.zip . The majority of items on the check template CANNOT be moved - you have to work around them. Also, the area on the bottom needs to be lighter to allow for the MICR information to show up. The template shows the .125" bleed as well.
Please, have fun! We are looking for a design that people will look at and smile.
