-angels appearing to shepherds in Israeli country side
-ancient scenes of a very pregnant Mary and her fiancee Joseph traveling to a Roman census
-the mother Mary receiving the news from an angel
-the father Joseph being informed by the angel in a dream
-modern scenes of people being presented Christian hopes in a Christmas manner
Basically desires and understandings that are somehow associated with Christ's birth.
Art that will not be considered will include:
-scenes of the father Joseph as a shepherd with a shepherd's staff(he was a carpenter by trade)
-the nativity characters not being middle eastern in descent (ie. no Americanized nativity characters)
-nativity in a wooden structure (want scenes of the nativity in a stone cave used as a barn if background is prominent)
-halos on characters(holy projected lighting on or from subjects is fine).
It may include scenes with biblical and modern characters that were not present during the birth (ie. King David, King Solomon, deceased prophets, biblical saints and/or characters as well as other well known individuals in good taste) looking in on scenes.
We basically want a very descriptive artwork that somehow is associated with Jesus' birth and its effects. We want even the most critical Christians to feel they are presented materials to celebrate Christmas as they understand it.
