Community & Non-Profit
I'm a meditation teacher, yoga monk, musician, author & speaker. I create music & books and related products and market them at public appearances and online.
What's your vision?
I need a design for a book cover. The same design will later be used for a matching workbook and CD set. Title: "Close Your Eyes & Open Your Mind - a Practical Guide to Spiritual Meditation." Author: Dada Nabhaniilananda The book will be 160 pages, 8.5 inches by 5.5 inches, vertical format.
Target audience: USA, probably Californian. Particularly creative professionals. Well educated. 30 - 65. Political progressives - definitely green and liberal. Spiritual but not religious. Animal and nature lovers. Middle class. Predominantly Jewish, caucasian or latino. Interested in developing focus, peace of mind and a sense of purpose. I have a couple of ideas for a cover image, but these are by no means set. I do not want you to feel that you have to limit yourself to these at all. Rather I'm eager to see original ideas. With that proviso, here are a couple of suggestions: 1. A silhouette image of a figure sitting in meditation. Within the silhouette could be an image of space and stars, or possibly a beautiful nature scene. One of the images I've attached has an image like this - title Going Green. 2. A scene showing a valley full of many people, faces upturned. In the foreground an orange robed monk is holding up a birds nest, and 3 birds are flying up into the sky. This symbolises the monk emerging from a cave with knowledge for the people of the world. I had an idea this scene could be viewed from just over the shoulder of the monk, so you only see his hands, and the birds flying upwards into the sky, with all the people in the background. Or maybe one bird could be flying, and the others are just emerging from their eggs. 3. How about combining the above two ideas. Two hands releasing three birds flying upwards into the sky, within a meditating silhouette? My website colors are silver, sky blue and orange. Attached images: My headshot should probably go on the back cover. The photo of me meditation on the cliffs of Moir is an alternative, or might even end up on the front somehow. The Eternalwave logo will be somewhere on the back - that's my distribution company. Other images are covers I like, so you can get an idea of my tastes. The CD cover, Flight of Love, is a CD cover design for one of my musical albums. You might want to use the same font as this for my name on the book cover - it is becoming my signature font.
