KartMe.com
We help people create and share lists of their favorite recipes, restaurants, links, home design ideas, gifts and more. We do it because we want to help people remember and experience the best. We like designs that are simple, fun, friendly, and intuitive. Links and buttons should look like links and buttons. Complexity should be hidden from the user.
While men and women between 18 and 60 use our free service, the design should be more colorful and friendly than google or delicious.
Our members like the design of Facebook, lala.com, and Yelp.
We're looking for you to design the top navigation bar that will be persistently available for all registered users of http://kartme.com, replacing the current logo and header.
The bar should help members easily:
-get to their lists of favorites (i.e., Karts)
-share recent favorites (e.g., restaurants)
Our color palatte is orange, green, gray and beige. We like playful textures and layers. See: http://www.kartme.com/pages/editors_picks
The bar should not be overwhelming--it should not take away from content on the page.

Here is the part i'm looking for help on: http://screencast.com/t/ZmYxMTQ4Zm
As there are two tiers to the navigation, consider using texture and shading like:

The top bar should be 960px wide, and conform to a 960 grid ( http://960.gs/ ). It should be around 80px to 120px in height. The final deliverable should be a layered PSD.
I'll happily answer questions and provide prompt feedback.
