mwtsn got their new other graphic design by running a design contest:
Avatar / character / mascot design for use on social networks and about.me page
Check out mwtsn's Other Graphic Design contest…
This is a personal project, I am a developer for a living, which means a lot of code writing, application development and attending IT based events.
What's your vision?
I would like an avatar/character/mascot that is a representation of myself. I would like to use this avatar on all my social networks, and also potentially as a part of a larger background image for my about.me / twitter page. I would prefer something scalable (vector based), but a large bitmap/raster image file would also be good. Don’t worry too much about the avatar looking exactly like me, just a hint will do, or even if you want to go abstract, I'm fully open to your ideas. In the pictures that I have included there are a few of pictures of myself, and some artwork that I like, so you can get a feel for the kind of thing that I am after. As you can see they are more modern designs, avoiding the classic “clip art” look. I have added reasons for why certain designs apeal to me in the comments section as designs have come in, so this might provide a better insight. The pictures I have included vary in style, so don’t be afraid to throw something new at me. I promise to provide feedback. Have a look in the comments section for further advice that I have added as the designs have started to come in.
Target audience includes people interested in web development, web services, coding, general IT geeky stuff, and social networking.
