I'm not good with colors.....so creative help here

In addition to being a bookkeeper, I'm also a writer.
I'm going to use a page of the webpage for my bookkeeping business, and another for a blog. Therefore, the homepage is going to need to be a little generic in that when either someone comes looking for me as the writer or the bookkeeper - they don't get confused if the other pops up. So maybe no logo on the home page, just my name.

I'm not good with color, so I'm no help with guidance there. I'm looking for something uncluttered and simple, modern, with some fun. Something teenage kids won't groan over (I have a couple of those - tough audience) while appealing to small businesses who are just getting started and looking for some bookkeeping help.

I'm both a bookkeeper and a writer, but am looking to expand the publishing circle of my writing, and a blog is needed.

On the home page, I'd like it to be kind of generic, with perhaps my name, a scenic shot of the area where I live. Below could be and links to CJ Bookkeeping (my bookkeeping business - featuring my new logo) and a link to Carla Rowe, writer (where writing examples can be viewed on a blog or through article links).

The second page, could be the CJ Bookkeeping page featuring the logo with "Carla J. Rowe, proprietor" underneath and could read something like:

In business since 2004, CJ Bookkeeping serves small business, area farms and individuals with a variety of bookkeeping services.
General Bookkeeping services offered by CJ Bookkeeping include

The third page should focus on Carla Rowe, the writer. Some kind of creativeness for a background might be good, perhaps with a mug shot type photo of me. I have no experience with blogs yet, as all my publishing has been through paper copies, but would like to be able to upload past articles I've written so other publishers can see examples of my writing and accompanying photos. (Some of the areas I'm trying to break into freelancing require this.)

I suppose a write-up of some kind is needed. It's always most difficult to write about yourself, isn't it? How about this:
