jlvonkamp got their new logo design by running a design contest:
175-year-old church finally needs a new logo!
Check out jlvonkamp's Logo design contest…
We are a church looking for a new logo. We've made a very "rough draft" of an idea that we like, but we're not designers and need help polishing it. We like what is called a "Chi Rho," an ancient symbol based on the first two letters in the Greek word for Christ, but we want it to have a modern look. Our rough draft puts the chi rho itself in the negative space. We also liked that this shape kind of creates the illusion of a cube, and that it's based on seven triangles. (Triangle has long been a symbol for the Trinity, and seven is a highly symbolic number in the Bible.) But, as you'll see, our very rough draft needs some style and polish.
We may also want to talk about a version of this logo that incorporates our current name, "First Christian Church."
