How dholc started their logo design journey

H Publishers is an organization publishing books that skip tugging on heart strings in the common, cliché manner and, instead, have an intellectual focus to give studied, down to Earth, objective, easy to understand reasons why faith should and definitely can be grounded on solid facts instead of feelings-based opinions.
What industry do you think your business is most related to?

Preferably dark neutrals (and Dr Who TARDIS blue from the 10th or 11th doctor would be cool to try!), but go for anything.

Eye-catching color, yet not too loud. And the font is nice and crisp.
How the shape is not an exact circle but broken up slightly
This logo will be used for a self-publishing organization, simply to place on the spine and the back of books. Probably only 1 color would suffice for the logo and text. The publishing company Zondervan is a perfect example of classic simplicity and the use of 1 or 2 colors. When you look at their logo, you will see that most of the time it and the text is either all white or all black, with the color of the book cover itself filling in the other portions. Thus, having a white logo and a black logo would be ideal for most instances (I am not familiar with how to change the color if I ever needed to, unless it could be done with applications such as the one I have: PhotoScape). -- The most important aspect of my "brand style" section is that it highlighted that I do not want a kiddy design, and I would add to that section that I also do not want a font that is kiddy, hard to make out, or that is obviously a very generic font found on the likes of Word or Canva. Finally, if possible I would like a logo with the text and a logo without the text. -- The image I will upload is a very rough design. The hands in the design are obviously fake, and it would be neat to have more realistic hands (maybe even designs from real hands), possibly with one hand palm up and the other palm down or whichever way it looks like they're reaching for one another. The "H" is far too boxy, so feel free to work with that as well (even breaking up the outside of the H like in the 7th icon above that looks like a circle with two V's inside). -- Of course, while I like the design of using two hands inside of a letter H, do feel free to send whatever types of designs with whatever colors.
