pietz got their new logo design by running a design contest:
unfuck earth - Logo design for a modern environmental non-profit
Check out pietz's Logo design contest…
We need a logo for a non-profit brand we are building called: "unfuck earth". The idea is that we want to sell merchandise like t-shirts and sports bags that were produced organic, fair trade and with a low co2 footprint in mind. These products will feature the logo we are searching for. A majority of the profits will go to climate supporting projects. Truth be told, we don't know yet if we can build this truly "non-profit". We aren't looking to make big money with this, but we may retain some of the profits to scale the brand. We already found a fantastic supplier for the merchandise and a company that will do the printing. What we need now, is the logo. We see two groups of people buying our products. Those who simply dig the design and others who want to do something good for the environment. Of course, the real potential happens where these two overlap. Therefore the logo must be something that looks sexy, modern and luxurious. On the other hand, it also needs to represent what we stand for: environmental, sustainable & trying to do some good. Regarding the logo, we are looking for something flat, minimal and clean since the textile print should be done with one color only. We also see the name "unfuck earth" to be part of the logo, so people can search for it when they read it somewhere. We currently dig the font "Playfair Display" because we find it luxurious with a modern touch. We're open for suggestions though. The logo should be roughly square (1:1 to 4:3). It's not part of a definite plan but we can also imagine going into a crazy/funny direction as there may be some word jokes within the brand name. The execution should still be modern, clean and grown-up.
