Google Ubuntu Philosophy Symbols and get a sense of images. I want a Geometric edifice concept like a hut & pyramid that evoke a sense of community to reflect richly on the logo. I want a dark themed logo similar to the The New York Times Logo. Since the name of my newspaper is Ubuntu Times I want a logo concept: U with a fist looking like the T in Times with the needed sophistication from the images I uploaded (which come from google not my personal work) or a design with U and T crafted together that creates an African-themed concept to evoke the powerful word Ubuntu – A universal truth, a way of life
Ubuntu is a word of ancient African origin meaning “I am what I am because of who we all are.” Here are some words that tell of the spirit of Ubuntu: Trust, Caring, Sharing, Respect, Community, Helpfulness, Unselfishness. I intentionally chose “Community” as the binding theme of this Ubuntu Times project. That is why my slogan is Ubuntu Times - a community of perspectives and ideas. And this is why I chose to incorporate the geometric shapes of the hut and pyramid as well as sharing elements and a fist to represent a community of people.
