@sammynerva is a great designer, his initial logo design was selected by us despite receiving over 400 entries by multiple designers. It has been a pleasure working with him.

I like the typography and the simplicity. The "V" mark is cool too.
We are the largest electrical supply business in the Chicagoland area. Our company just celebrated it's 100 year anniversary two years ago so we are well established. Because it's a family owned business, history and heritage are very important. The logo we presently have was last updated in 1970 and reflects some of the characteristics of the original 1916 logo with the initial "S" and "R" which has become their identifiable trademark. The new logo needs to carry on that look somehow in an evolutionary, contemporary way. One that communicates expertise, reliability, and knowledgable with a little flair. One side note, we don't really want to see "electric bolts". In this industry it's been done to death. For colors, we've have been using PMS 3015C and PMS 123C. This logo will be used in a variety of sizes from 10' wide to .5" small so it needs to be simple and readable. Additionally, we would love to consider some kind of mark that could be used in Mobile applications. I've included a couple visual samples for reference. (See DeWalt and Grainger)
