tony.jay got their new logo design by running a design contest:
A Software Consultant Lives! Design my logo and get credits from my site!
Check out tony.jay's Logo design contest…
Our tagline is: THE ART OF SOFTWARE FOR ENTREPRENEURIAL IT CONSULTANTS In your designs, please do not reference the A of "A Software Consultant". That is too obvious and basic. I won't be accepting designs that do so. There are a number of ways that you can make a living developing software. You could get a permanent job working for a company as a developer. You could become a contractor to those companies. You could also be an online freelancer. My topic is about being the second item, the software consultant/contractor. The site is going to focus on a number of items: * How to transition from perm to contract/freelance work * What is expected of contractors * How to get work and keep your contract role * How to make sure you minimise your time on the bench A large portion of the site will be committed to showing you how to do the best job possible so that you can retain your contract for as long as possible. The particular way that it will do this is to help you to focus on the aspects of the job which are not the technical, but rather the non-technical aspects of the role. It’s these non-technical aspects of the role which I believe are the most important. One of the big pain points for permanent staff is that they see these highly paid but not as skilled consultants coming in to do the job and they know they could do it better. Yet they don’t have the guts to make the change and go out into the contract world. In short we help permanent staff become consultants, help consultants to do their job better, and ultimately ensure their job security and stability. Please do not focus on the "A" in A Software Consultant. Play with the words and see what you can come up with.
