http://www.DayOnBay.ca . Our site will have three content areas: original features (business news/analysis), career content (interviews with professionals in the field), and news about student-run finance organizations from across Canada.
The reason it is called DayOnBay is as follows. Bay Street is the equivalent of America's Wall Street, and is essentially where many Canadian university students want to work if they are interested in finance. DayOnBay refers to a "preview" of what Bay Street is like.
Canadian university students interested in careers and finance. Seeking to get a leg-up on the competition for finance jobs. Driven, smart, and looking to get their foot in the door to the finance world.
Also, we hope to partner with professionals from financial services firms to conduct interviews/get ad revenue. Therefore, it is important that our logo looks professional in their eyes when we include in on our website and in our promotional material.
The logo should be:
3) Not too complicated
This is a list of ideas that could potentially (but no necessarily) incorporated into the logo: Toronto Skyline, Maple Leaf, Bay Street Sign, Office Buildings, Stock Graph/Ticker, Briefcase, Textbooks, Tie, Suit, Business Professional. If you think of something else feel free to post it, I am open to anything.
Red/Black would be good colours to incorporate into the logo. Logo should have the text DayOnBay or DayOnBay.ca in some form on it. It will eventually be placed on the top banner of our website and in our promotional materials. One example of a logo I thought was not too bad was (http://99designs.com/readymade/logos/3488).
The real key of this logo is for it to appear professionally designed.
File format: Vector (.ai/.eps) and High-Res JPEG.
