Stevebax got their new logo design by running a design contest:
My Next Marriage needs a new logo
Check out Stevebax's Logo design contest…
This business targets couples desiring to get married where one or both partners have been married before. Our client's ages range from thirty through to senior couples, possibly with children. Our target market is multicultural and global. It sells information products (eBooks, videos, eLearning, and so on). We are also launching our own magazine under the same name. The business goes beyond the blushing first time bride, and beyond the wedding day. Our business is multi-purpose from assisting couples and families with a) preparing to be a couple, b) planning the wedding day, c) through to the joys and challenges during the early years of the marriage.
Logo types to explore
We anticipate the logo will have two components: a symbol and a company name or tag line. We want the symbol of the logo to be distinctive enough to be used separately as an icon for Apps, smartphones, desktop, etc. Designers are asked to avoid focus on brides, veils, engagement/wedding rings, and other 'wedding day only' symbols. Although an eternity ring may symbolise the enduring relationship component of the business. Try this - focus on unity, commitment, love, and for those marrying more than twice it could be evolutionary relationships. Try imaginative integration of symbol with name and/or initials. Creative use of the symbol (impression of being embossed, perhaps a reflection or shadow, some depth). Try being clever with the location of the symbol, perhaps as part of the name as opposed to being on top of or stuck to the side of the name. We have attached our existing logo (we use an eternity ring embracing the company name). However, we believe we can do better and feel the logo should be more distinctive, less fussy; and represent the values we have selected as part of this brief. The Designer is asked to select a base colour from the three selections shown in this brief and add to that selected colour one or two additional complementing shades or colours. Although a single colour is not wanted, a selection of shades of a selected colour is acceptable.

My designer did an awesome job of taking my vision and bringing it to life... reflected in several different designs that conceptually I thought would be the one. He had absolutely no push back on changing direction and we eventually came upon a design concept that works for our brand!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
