We are a small group of experts who are specialists in developing apps. We don't cover any other areas in mobile. We work with high-end clients who want the best possible service from the most professional team.
We are also quite friendly and relaxed to work with not stiff and cool but friendly warm and collaborative. We are quietly confident in what we do as a result of many years experience and delivering many high profile project for leading brands, this allows us to be a bit more relaxed and very honest with clients.
We are highly ambitious and aim to be the best mobile development boutique in the world.
When developing apps our focus is on people, user testing is a key part of how we create apps as we want to create the best possible experience for the end-users of the apps. The hand and computers sitting in the hand is where our idea for our name originated.
Our audience will be also largely creative and marketing agencies who will outsource App development projects. We need to portray a funky but also very stable and professional image to this audience as there are many cowboys in the App development space. A second audience will be brand owners how might engage us directly. Finally consumers will see our logo each time they launch an App we have created.
We are looking for a professional logo that's a bit of fun but also serious. We are starting a high-end professional development studio that specialises in developing apps. We don't make anything else, just apps. From mobile and using the hand as a input device hence the name handstand studios.
We have started with the idea of a hand doing some kind of handstand (or thumb stand and 2 fingers or more sticking out) possibly in some kind of graphic way. Think breakdancing / parkour as a possibility.
At the moment we are undecided whether to use handstand studio or handstand studios. Options on either of these will be considered.
I think of it as a witty approach that's a bit tongue in cheek with understated humour that's clever, but not so obvious that its childish. E.g. If you look carefully at the fedex logo there is a hidden arrow in the EX letters negative space. This is a bit unexpected and witty, its more about the approach than hiding stuff in letters for clarity sake.
Look at this:
The logo will be used across all normal elements, mostly on screen and at the beginning of each App we build. So this is a key consideration will it look good on a screen. We like simple bold designs.
While we have chosen this name any other ideas might be considered.
Good luck. Happy designing.
