Excellent is not even enough for the great job the designer did. We went back and forth multiple times and there was never a flicker of tiredness. Keep up the good job. kudos to the founder of the 99designs webiste for arranging this great way of getting the best logo.
How Blake2 started their logo design journey
mammothmix.com is a site catering to many different customers with varying sportswear and apparel products. With several different brands available, the website will carry product for men and women, carrying tops, bottoms, outerwear, and accessories. "Mammoth"=vast selection, huge discounts, etc.
Another great feature of the site will be the "name your own price" feature where consumers can decide what they want to pay for their selections. Once they get to the checkout page, they will be prompted to offer either per item or for the entire purchase. With huge discounts as much as 50-75% below regular retail in some cases, this website will become an exciting shopping game! Need a logo to convey this idea...
How do we do it? Our parent company is a leader in off-price apparel, and our buyers constantly travel and comb the apparel markets throughout the world to find the absolute best "closeouts" - usually major cancelled orders or previous season product from major department store production.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Anybody! Young, old, big, small, we truly do have a product for everyone. We do cater more to the casual dresser, and our specialized brands often resemble more of a "street" look, but the purpose of the website is to eventually host a breadth of different brands and products - from this "name your own price" concept to a "3 for $10" section to a "street-wear" section to a "workwear" section. Our target audience is the savvy online shopper, one that knows the product, knows what they want, and how much they want to spend. Still, the customer shopping mammothmix.com is going to be visiting the site to "play the game", and try to score a deal!
There is definitely some freedom here. I like the shape and icon that is the "mammoth", and I think there are some fun and interesting shapes that could be used in the tusks and trunk, but don't necessarily REQUIRE the use of the animal in the logo. All in all, the logo needs to be fairly clean, straight-forward, easily transferable to different pages/sites. Not necessarily simple, just have an easy ability to be read and comprehended at first glance. Needs to look good in color AND black and white. Questions? Please do not hesitate to ask.
