McIntosh IP is a small intellectual property law firm, with a focus on trade marks, though we routinely undertake copyright and other matter. The firm is essentially run by Daniel McIntosh with one other staff currently. It operates on a low overhead structure. While I do have an office, most of my client contact is via telephone or email.
This week we are looking for a fresh new logo & next week we will be submitting a job for a new Wordpress Template. Although the content on the website will stay the same the whole design/layout of the current website will change. The new logo will of course feature on the website and will be influential in determining the new design.
Almost all my clients, aside from referrals, come to me via my website. Therefore, the logo/ website needs to be very professional and effective in attracting customers as it is my real “face” to the public - Currently it is lacking this.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
I am looking to attract professional and business clients.
I am young and definitely not part of the stuffy old boys club legal fraternity and I would like this portrayed to some extent. However, the logo must portray professionalism & trust. Prestige with modernity.
I am based in metropolitan Melbourne, Australia in the funky suburb of Fitzroy. Many of my clients are from Melbourne but some are Australia wide. My clients are a mixtures of new start-up businesses and existing businesses.
The logo will appear on the top of the webpage and also on my letterheads.
I would like a colour logo but it needs to print well from my black and white printer – not with lots of pixels. I will also be having colour letterhead logos professionally printed.
The text 'Trade Marks & IP Law' - needs to be included with the logo, and this text needs to be be easily changeable (by us) without affecting the overall design.
There are no specific colour requirements.
Here are some examples of some logos/headers I like:
