Tokome (slogan: Pitch YouTube videos)
Tokome is a vlogging platform for Facebook users (its concept is new in so many ways so we call it an "experimental vlogging platform").
Our purpose is to provide users with an easy way to record interesting videos with their webcam, by offering a new technology for multi-layered video recording.
Our app is categorized as a 'Just for fun' > 'Self expression' application on Facebook, but it might also serve "serious" users that want to create "serious" videos with it (for example, vlogging about the BP crises while showing a YouTube video of the spill in a small square on your webcam).
You should learn more on Tokome right here: http://www.facebook.com/apps/applic…254&v=info, click on 'Go to Application' to see the app in action (don't worry, it will not ask you to join the app as a user, yet you are welcomed to).
If you have a webcam and a Windows PC, you should try to record a video as a user, it will give you a much better idea of what Tokome is for the vlogger.
Once our logo is ready, we have several more tasks in the pipeline for the right designer.
We would say vloggers, bloggers, "webcamers", "YouTubers", tech savvies, small businesses and publishers who wants to pitch their own videos and so on, but since it's a Facebook application, the target audience might be wider and include users that will experience vlogging for the first time in their life, with Tokome.
The app structure in Facebook is designed to expose Tokome to new social circles all the time, so it should be a very inviting logo, a bold one that is hard to miss (hard to miss doesn't say that it should be outrages...) .
You can use a webcam illustration in the logo, but only if you feel that it's a must for your concept.
The logo should have a second version (trimmed or scaled) that we will be able to use in the Facebook index (75*75), and in icons (16*16).
It might be a good idea (not a must though) to have an illustrative logo, like the (yet ugly) illustrations we have for the stage designs (YouTube On Webcam, Webcam On YouTube etc.), an illustrative logo might help users to understand what Tokome does right from the Facebook indexes, even before they enter the app.
** Update: We like warm colors.
Let's try to avoid the plain Arial/Halvetica font for the word Tokome.
*** Update: users should be able to understand that Tokome brings the new concept of "recording and sharing video-in-video" in Facebook.
Good luck, and thanks for your precious time.
