Segue Consulting
A brand new consultancy, starting from a marketing / communications approach. I want to build a brand that can be grown across all aspects of business consulting. The brand (starting with the logo) needs to instill confidence in my business capability (most important) and my creativity (less so).
The business is aimed at helping helping businesses on a tight budget, with few real resources, to take small, pragmatic steps to grow.
And this is how the name Segue Consulting came about - because it is about transitioning from one thing into another, smoothly, so the journey is as enjoyable as the destination.
I will be aiming at a reasonable conservative market - those businesses that find 'creative agencies' daunting and want amore pragmatic approach.
Businesses will primarily be small to medium family/sole trader businesses and not-for-profits. They will always hestitate to spend money unless they really trust the supplier. I need to present in a manner that encourages trust and makes me look professional enough to justify my price tag!
I want the brand (beginning with the logo) to be fresh, clean and reassuring (a little on the conservative side but not boring). Please use lower case letters (or capitalise the first letter of each word only if this suits your design - no all caps please).
The mark should not be square - round, diamond, triangular or non-descript shapes all work for me, square does not.
The logo needs to consist of the business name and a mark.
Ideally the mark would become recognisable in its own right so that in the future there are creative options around using it without the company name.
The combined name and mark should be no more than 4 colours. Three is probably preferred. The logo also needs to be able to easily work in black and white, and I'd like to be able to have a vertical and horizontal version.
If you have an idea that doesn't quite fit with what I've said but your intuition is telling you that it could work, try me - I'm certainly open to suggestions! The look, feel and colours of the logo will drive the rest of my marketing collateral so I'm really looking for something where the colours can easily be used in borders, headings, watermarks etc and still look good (so avoid colours that are best in very small doses!)
I may also want to add a tagline in the future so will probably have a preference for a logo where this can be easily incorporated.
Entries which do not meet these requirements will be eliminated without comment.
Please DO NOT submit multiple 'almost the same' entries. If I like your entry but want to see it in a different font, or different colours, I'll let you know - but I want you to put forward your best ONE, not 5 variations of the same thing. THANKS!!
