We are a small, Australian private equity investment fund.
'Calimpa' means 'Bee hive' in the Australian Aboriginal language.
'Bee hive' is appropriate to our business as our fund will be a large, strong structure made up from many small, hard-working, professional investments.
The final fund (like honey comb) will be precise, strong, attractive (tasty), accurate, well designed.
[In finance, private equity is an asset class consisting of equity securities in operating companies that are not publicly traded on a stock exchange, See Wikipedia for more info]
Our investment focus is on small businesses worth less than $10 million. This is unique as there are not many investor who worry about this ‘small end of town’.
Our aim is to apply large, corporate, professional investment practices to this small niche.
Some of the thoughts and feelings we want to convey in our logo:
Trust, security, professionalism, corporate, integrity, honesty, risk reduction.
Unique, remarkably different, no competition, something special.
Value add, provider of knowledge, support, skills, experience, consulting services, etc (we are more than just a check book!).
Local, humble, co-operative, guidance, dure care, long term commitment.
Small but valuable, little, condensed, morsel.
