How MeridianYachts started their logo design journey
Meridian Yachts (meridian-yachts.com) - feature is Integrated Vessel Control (IVC)
Meridian Yachts (http://www.meridian-yachts.com) is North America’s best selling brand of bridge-style yachts and a worldwide leader in pleasure yachts from 35-60 feet. Meridian Yachts is introducing a new supplemental control system for 2011 that combines operation of two thrusters into one joystick.
Boats have little steering control when backing up (without thrust from the props acting directly against rudders) and have no capacity to move sideways. Thruster systems allow either the front or back end to “scoot” sideways when the respective thruster is engage, and they allow the entire boat to move directly sideways when both are engaged in the same direction at the same time. This is especially helpful in docking situations.
For the new control system, thrusters will be mounted in typical locations at the front and rear of the boat. Thrusters are basically electric propellers mounted at a right angle the main propellers. The implementation of the thrusters is not novel , however the integration into a single joystick for one-handed operation is a key selling point.
The system will be called Integrated Vessel Control and regularly shortened to IVC in literature and sales material. We are seeking a logo and/or typeface presentation of both IVC and the words "Integrated Vessel Control".
Note that logo is for IVC/Integrated Vessel Control only, NOT MERIDIAN YACHTS.
