How Salty Wahine started their logo design journey
Salty Wahine's Gourmet Hawaiian Sea Salts
I do a line of Hawaiian sea salts and seasonings for chefs and the average person who loves to cook. Wahine is the Hawaiian word for "lady" or "female" so the name "Salty Wahine" is a playful name that not only defines me as the lady who makes salt here in Kauai Hawaii, but also shows the sassy sultry side of me too. Salt is used here in Hawaii not only to cook with, but to cleanse and bring good luck and to keep evil spirits away.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
I sell to a wide variety of clientel from mom and pop shops to high end gourmet restaurants, im also in the local supermarkets and tradeshows and craft fairs. My products appeal to young and old alike, anyone who loves to cook.
I am looking for something simple, maybe the outline of a womans face with piercing eyes . Ladies in Hawaii have long hair, often wears a flower above right ear (single) or left ear (married). My company colors are teal and white, and I have a "Kauai Made" logo sticker that I add to packaging, you can view that at http://www.kauaimade.net its purple, green and white. So, bottom line, a "Salty Wahine" would be awesome. Sultry, inviting, eye catching, but not X rated. I've attached photos of my products and packaging and a sketch of a "salty wahine" that I like but is too detailed to put on a business card. Also, the female behind the table selling my salt is my daughter and the "face" of salty wahine on our local ads. So you can use her face as inspiration. I've attached a photo of her (Nikki)
