RugPeople.com & RugPeople.co.uk
I took over a long established Oriental carpet wholesale business from my father and basically took it online, specializing in large Oriental carpets and mainly being a B2B business. It used to be oriental-carpets.com and will now be rugpeople.com (as well as other domains for seperate countries). We are now trying to reposition ourselves towards a B2C "all kinds of rugs" approach, getting away from the old fashioned Oriental carpet business. The website will be advanced in its database search and a fresh presentation online.
Online consumer market. We used to cater high end rugs of 7000-15000€ and now rather 1000€/rug. Couples in their late twenties to late forties who would also be buying at habitat and would shop online at amazon.com.
The logo (domain name and a stylized carpet/rug) should represent our website RugPeople.com. There will be other domains so the text in logo should be easily replaceable. The rug icon can be simple but clever. The words Rug&People should be of different boldness, possibly different colour and font too. Icon should either be left of text or incorporated into the text (e.g. like in the amazon logo) but not above text.
Nothing oriental, no flying rug with a man sitting on it etc. The fonts should not be serif.
The tagline "Believe in the perfect rug" should be incorporated under the domain name.
The logo should contain two colours, possibly one colour. Feel free to experiment with the colours but nothing to bright and candy like, rather earthy. Our previous colour was Pantone 465 (R:189, G:141, B:97) which could also be re-used.
