Clark Vandeventer needed a new logo design and created a contest on 99designs.
A winner was selected from 35 designs submitted by 15 freelance designers.
Looking for an established, corporate feel. But also want a cutting edge, different approach. Love the concept of acorns and oaks and the symbolism there. Have used in marketing materials in past.
The logo should have the words "Major Gifts Fundraising" I like the idea of having an acorn/oak and perhaps a dollar sign in the logo. Major Gifts Fundraising is a subsidiary of World Changers Inc. You can view what we have up now at http://www.worldchangers.us.com. You'll see we have a long way to go to get where we want to be.
I'm also working on a website. I'll share with you exactly what I shared with the person helping me with my website:
I like this site you previously sent me: http://www.worshipleaderinsights.com/ but I want a more corporate feel.
Defenitely want people to be able to sign up for our blog and newsletter....this would be two separate things. We could have multiple blog entries over the course of a month. Newsletter may be a quarterly thing.
I plan to do a podcast and am recording now me doing several two minute vignettes.
I defenitely want an events section and want to utilize eventbrite.com or some other mechanism as an on-line RSVP tool and as a means of capturing information.
Obviously, capturing information, via events, podcasts, newsletter, blog subscriptions is all important.
Stephen Clouse & Associates -- http://www.stephenclouse.com/ -- is largely in the same market as me. I like his website, particuarly the quotes and endorsements that go across the home screen. You'll see something similar at http://www.fundraisingstrategies.com which is also in the same market as me (although both provide a different service than me).
I really like the whole look and feel of the Koch Foundation website at http://www.cgkfoundation.org/
A few general thoughts.
First is that I want a corporate or "established" feel to the site.
Second, I've previously used a lot of acorns and oaks in my materials. I like the concept and would like to continue this theme in some way.
Third, I'm building a business system. Or at least that's the goal. But in the end, clients really buy me. Therefore, the site should have pictures of me.
The site needs to explain what I now explain what I currently explain to each client individually. I know this is a content thing, but just saying it.
Have used shades of green in the past, but am open to something different.
Tag line: Audacious gifts, and the audacious vision that inspires them
I'm open.
