Bmahon2006 needed a new logo design and created a contest on 99designs.
A winner was selected from 121 designs submitted by 33 freelance designers.
We are launching a new community based website for Irish people called scratcher.ie
The website is in early stage development right now and not yet online.
Scratcher.ie will be an online community for people in Ireland, targeted particularly at the unemployed. It will be a social networking site where people create a profile, use a forum, message each other and most importantly "Skill Swap".
In their profile users include skills they can offer others and skills they have a need for someone else to provide - they can then "Skill Swap"
For example:
A painter and decorator needs a simple website built to advertise his business online
A web designer is looking to get his house painted.
We match them and let them "Skill Swap". They complete the jobs for each other for no cost. A return to bartering of skills.
In Ireland "scratcher" or "being on the scratcher" is a slang term for unemployment.
We are looking for a logo which reflects our audience - Irish people who may or may not be employed but have a skill they can offer to complete a job for another person.
The logo should incorporate our name "scratcher.ie".
It should be eye catching
It should be innovative
Things we would like to see conveyed include:
Community
Social Interaction
Skill swapping
Simplicity
Ps. we are not looking for any cliche or stereotyped images of Ireland which includes leprechauns, shamrocks, tri-colours, pints of Guinness, etc....
