general.gatewaychurch got their new logo design by running a design contest:
New logo for growing suburban Christian church.

Seek Grow Live [But this does not HAVE to be part of the logo]
We are a small, intergenerational, evangelical, non-denominational Christian church in a suburb of Madison, Wisconsin. We need a logo that both appeals to young adults/families, as well as the large number of retired people already in the congregation. Some words that describe what we're looking to project are faithfulness, inviting, warmth, community, professionalism, fun, and simplicity (though not boring). As a church we worship Jesus Christ (Jesus calls himself "the gate" in John 10:9 btw), follow his word, and love one another in Christian community.
Other color requirements
Some colors that match our building are something like the following: Pantone 18-1531 TCX Pantone 7628 C Pantone 18-6114 Pantone P 33-11 U (Burnt Reds, Dark greens, Reddish/brown, tan) But Black and White might also be acceptable Do either red or green and not both together. It looks too Christmas-y together.
It all began with a design brief.
A quick, interactive guide helped them understand their design style and captured exactly what they needed in their logo design.
Designers across the globe delivered design magic.
general.gatewaychurch collaborated with designers to refine their ideas
When design entries come in, you can rate them so designers know what you’re looking for in your logo design.
99designs has great collaboration tools so you can pinpoint and capture your ideas
And then… they selected a winner!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
