IllusionFACTORY needed a new logo design and created a contest on 99designs.
A winner was selected from 97 designs submitted by 30 freelance designers.
geoKOAX
The customer is an engineering office developing new solutions for regenerative energy. geoKOAX (or GeoKoax or geoKoax, writing has not been defined yet) is a newly developed geothermic probe.
Off-the-shelf geothermic probes have to reach about a hundred meters deep into the ground to capture enough energy to heat a house. Water flows straight down, makes an u-turn and comes back up.
In the new geoKOAX probe water circulates slowly within the probe while descending and therefore absorbs a lot more energy in the process. Therefore you only have to dig 50 meters to akquire the same energy and in the process go easy on the soil.
The risk to hit unwanted soil layers (stone, water, etc.) is therefore minimized and drilling cost is significantly reduced.
Target audience is mostly technical, like drilling companies that dig deep holes into the ground, but also consumers.
The logo should transport the technical engineering touch, creating trust and confidence into technology. It should contain two, maximum three colours and should be simple and therefore memorable (complex logos cannot be remembered).
Typography likewise.
