A world class designer. He essentially wins the contest through only one entry. His interpretation of the brief is spot on. Not only that, he also adds his own fresh take on the logo concept that resonates well with the intended audience of our business: young urban hip families. We created a poll for our prospective clients and they overwhelmingly voted for the winning design. In short, expect to get more than you ask for from this amazing designer!

We're based in Las Vegas and target mid-sized businesses. I chose the name "13 Pages" because 13 is my lucky number.
I also have two other upcoming projects that will be 13 Gadgets (tech review blog) and 13 Lights (LED lights and green topics blog). I would like to have some common elements across the three logos to help create some branding that carries across all three.
So please design the 13 Pages logo such that you will be able to adapt it to 13 Gadgets and 13 Lights later on - with those common elements. I presume that the number 13 will be the common element across the three, but I am open to other suggestions.
I'd like to avoid trendy design features that will look dated in a few years, such as page curls.
I prefer a design that either does not use gradients, or that at least still looks good when gradients are replaced with solid colors.
