Hard Medium Soft Ltd.
My background is as a software development manager and solution architect. I am involved in designing website and desktop applications including user interfaces.
This company will be both an IT consultancy, but primarily a software producer that will sell via our website (not up yet) and direct to phones from both the Apple Store and Microsofts Market Place.
Anyone buying software both young and old. Also any companies that require IT consultancy and or software developed.
Logo will be used for applications on iPhones, Windows Phone 7 Series phones and desktops.
Our audience appreciate technology, but also like cool. They are cutting edge and early adopters.
This is pretty open to any concepts and colours that work with and for the name of the company. Ideally the logo will have humour and cleverness.
The company is modern, creative, funky and enjoys a good laugh.
Software production is our primary business and this logo will adorn our software packages, and be our icon on the start bar or windows start screen.
The 'Soft' in the company name is supposed to emulate the 'Software' nature of our business. As in 'Microsoft'.
The other side of the business is consultancy and contracted software development. Our business customers will be wanting the latest technology solutions, the best quality and projects run efficiently.
The 'Hard' can mean many things, but possible that we will tackle the hardest problems, or are hard on costs and efficiency.
The 'Medium' could illustrate that we develop across, on or in many mediums (web, desktop, server, html, java, c# etc..)
The standard must haves applies:
be unique and immediately distinctive and identifiable
be identifiable as an icon (16x16 and 24x24)
have a white background version
have a dark background version
have a effective version used for B&W printing
be usable on a website in a banner etc..
I would be happy with various versions of the logo for the different applications. For example the icon sizing will obviously be greatly simplyfied versions etc..
