Cape Otway Ocean Lodge
We provide bunk-house style accommodation for school camps, bush-walking clubs and lovers of the great Australian outdoors. Our location is amazing. We're at Cape Otway which is on the southern coast of Victoria, Australia. We're surrounded by Great Otway National Park and have views of the iconic Cape Otway Lightstation and its lighthouse circa 1848. Within walking distance of our 100 acre property we have pristine beaches, classic Australian bushland, towering sea cliffs, river inlets and abundant European, Aboriginal and natural history. So, we're a great base for a great variety of outdoor adventures.
Our company is small, we offer a personalised service and have more than 50 years of local knowledge. Groups can self cater, or we cater for them. We are a disability friendly business.
Our target audience includes schools, outdoor education specialists, guided walking tour companies, bushwalking groups, four wheel-driving groups, naturalist societies.
Our most important existing markets are school camps and bushwalkers.
We can cater for up to 48 people at a time, so we're only interested in group bookings.
The logo and typography should convey the great Australian outdoors, adventure, outdoor education and the bushland setting.
The property is flanked by the Great Otway National Park & includes views of the lighthouse. The area is renowned for its populations of koalas, kangaroos, wallabies, sugar gliders, and birdlife - including blue winged parrots, wedge tail eagles, and crimson rosellas. It would be good for there to be some reflection of the natural setting and local wildlife.
The design should combine a logo with the acronym COOL and the words "Cape Otway Ocean Lodge" and laid out so that two versions can be used:
- the logo with just the COOL acronym
- the logo with the COOL acronym and the "Cape Otway Ocean Lodge" brand name
The fonts used should be readily available on the web.
The colours should be of earthy tones to reflect the natural colours of the deep blue southern ocean and the grey-greens of the eucalypts.
The logo must be effective when used in black & white, effective at small sizes (e.g. for use on business cards or clothing tags) and is to be supplied in AI, EPS, SVG, JPEG and PNG formats (on transparent background).
See http://www.capeotwayoceanlodge.com for more details but do not base the logo on the current website style. See also http://www.greatoceanmedia.com.au/gallery/ for some up-to-date shots of the Lodge and also the nearby lighthouse.
