My Citizen Source
My Citizen Source is an online community developed to create a forum in which immigrants to the U.S. can feel comfortable sharing their immigration experiences and find help and support from others who have navigated the complicated immigration system before. A portion of the community will be dedicated to providing guidance and easy to understand instructions for filling out complicated government forms.
We are a group of Master's students in USC's Annenberg Program on Online Communities. As individuals and a group we are passionate about using the Web and Social Media to help minority communities. The long process toward citizenship can be very confusing and frustrating; My Citizen Source was developed to help immigrants connect with other people who are going through the same thing or have gone through it in the past.
The community is intended for recent immigrants, those who have had experience dealing with the U.S. Department of Immigration, or immigrants who have questions regarding the long and complicated path to citizenship. Our first target group of immigrants will be those from Spanish speaking countries.
Our community is going to be asking users to share very private and personal information about their immigration experiences, therefore it is very important that our site is represented very professionally. We want our users to feel safe, but still comfortable and don't want the logo to feel too dry or rigid.
Please provide images for the words "My Citizen Source" as well as the initials "MCS."
1) The words "My Citizen Source" will be featured as a header on our homepage and possibly smaller on other pages, therefore we need the image to be large enough to look nice on the homepage but still clear in a smaller format.
2) We would also like to see an image using the initials "MCS." We would like these to correlate with the words "My Citizen Source," with the same font and color scheme, as these two images will both be used on and off the website to represent our company.
3) We will be basing the color scheme of our site around this logo, so we are open to different colors but nothing too bright or crazy.
4) We would be open to the incorporation of images that represent the United States without being overly patriotic, including but not limited to:
- the statue of liberty, her crown or torch
- the US flag, stars
- Ellis Island
- bald eagle
- an artistic rendition of a passport stamp
5) We believe that immigration is very much tied to the family, so incorporating images that represent familial bonds are also welcome
5) There is a very rough first sketch of what the homepage might look like attached. This is nothing final, so do NOT feel tied to it. This is just to show an example of how the words might be placed and an example of what we thought the initials might look like.
MUST BE ORIGINAL ARTWORK, PLEASE REFRAIN FROM USING STOCK OR COPYRIGHTED IMAGES
