Lake Bluff Public Library
We are a small public library in a suburb north of Chicago on the shore of Lake Michigan. Our community is small and close knit. We are a public organization, so we serve a wide variety of backgrounds, ages, and interests. We pride ourselves on being friendly and approachable, with an emphasis on personalized customer service. We offer a variety of services beyond books, such as technology assistance and instructions, movies & video games, and programming ranging from trivia nights hosted at a local brewery to more family oriented events such as storytime at the local farmer’s market.
I'd like to explore the following colors:
Blues: Knowledge, trust, calm and honesty.
Aquas: Empathy, compassion, clarity and precision.
Greens: Growth, harmony and success.
We are looking for a re-branding that is more contemporary than our current, and reflects some of the values of our community. We want the logo to reflect the fact that we're a friendly, vibrant, community-centered organization that serves a variety of needs, from education to entertainment. We are looking at a more saturated, vibrant palette, primarily in cool tones (the blue, aqua, green that we indicated) with one warm tone (such as goldenrod, coral, brick), but we are interested in your interpretation, as this palette is not set in stone. We also like modern sans-serif fonts for use in the logo. We like logos where there is interplay between visual design and the wordmark, but that are flexible enough to function separately as well.
See attached images for some logos from other libraries that we like, and visual elements from our community that could be incorporated.
