DashHouse got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Liberty Grace Church needs a hip, urban logo and stationary design
Check out DashHouse's Logo design contest…
We are a new church starting in Liberty Village, a new, young community near downtown Toronto. "Liberty Village has experienced phenomenal growth from 2004 to the present in terms of new condos/lofts, office space, a new park, and a multitude of new shops and restaurants. It has been dubbed by many the 'hottest' neighbourhood in Toronto." (Wikipedia)
Logo types to explore
We are looking for hip and urban. If it has a suburban look it won't work for us. It needs a bit of an edge. That seems to go with the urban nature of what we're doing. This is a pretty hipster area. Try to avoid most Canadian or religious symbols - the Maple Leaf, doves, fish symbol. The cross can work, but not if it's too predictable. This is not a religious area, so using in-your-face religious symbols is not a good idea. Anything that focuses on a typical church building (steeple, etc.) won't work for us. The same with anything that reflects on U.S. American symbols of liberty - just won't work in Toronto. The files we will require are: Print file format - .ai (CMYK) Web file format - .gif or .jpg AND layered .psd (RGB)
